Long & Son is located in the Blackdown Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, (AONB) and cover the areas around Axminster and Honiton in East Devon with Ilminster, Chard and Crewkerne in West Somerset with many of our customers living in the local, traditional villages in between and around the towns. Listed building and Conservation Area work is a speciality to ensure your property is maintained to the standard required by the local authorities.

A.G. Long & Son welcome private and trade work and also “DIY” / customers’ projects.
We will discuss with you the best product to use for example a hardwood Oak, Ash, Chestnut, Beech, Iroko or a variety of a Mahogany or a Softwood Redwood, Southern Yellow Pine, Tulip Wood etc., all used appropriately for external or internal work and whether you wish for the product to be stained or oiled to bring out the natural beauty of the grain and figuring or if you wish for a painted finish.
